In 1907 the state Confederate pension payment system underwent revision. From 1907 to 1953, all pensioners were divided into four different types or classes with pension payments based on the class. Class was determined by the type and length of service, type of wound, and relationship to the veteran (Acts of Alabama, 1907). This series records disbursements from the state treasury to Confederate pension recipients. Information recorded includes the name, pension number, and amount due. This information is also available in the Confederate Veteran Pension Applications series (SX-510-2).
